Maud Brownlow
Maud Buckle, Lady Brownlow (1870-1936) was the daughter of Captain S. Buckle of the Royal Engineers. On 5th October 1895 she married Adelbert Salusbury Cockayne Cust (1867-1927), who at that time had no especial prospect of succeeding to the Brownlow title. He became 5th Baron Brownlow in 1921. Their children were, Elizabeth Barbara Cust (1896-1913), Peregrine Francis Adelbert Cust, 6th Baron Brownlow (1899-1978) and Sarah Marie Adelaide Cust (1906-1992). Descendants gift tulip bulbs for the Italian Garden each year in remembrance of their Cust forebears.
